This is a play on the CLEVELAND GUARDIANS for our Wednesday Free Play. Cleveland took the opener of this series last night with a 5-3 victory to make it three straight wins. The Guardians have increased their lead to 5.5 games in the American League Central over Kansas City which has lost three straight. Cleveland is now 21 games over .500 as it has gotten the job done on the road where it is now 22-14 and once again the bullpen was the story. The Guardians gave up a rare run over three innings out of the pen and we say rare because that was only the fourth earned run allowed by the relievers over their last 10 games which has covered 38.1 innings for a 0.94 ERA. The Reds have lost two straight games following a seven-game winning streak and come in as the small favorite once again despite the disparity in records. Cincinnati is three games under .500, including two games under .500 at home, as it remains seven games behind Milwaukee in the National League Central. To their credit, the Reds have a solid bullpen as well but it might not come down to that. Nick Lodolo has been solid through nine starts as he has a 2.92 ERA and 0.99 WHIP and he is coming off a pair of quality starts for the first time this season and the first since September of 2022. He has a tough matchup here though as the Guardians are 13-4 against left-handed starters, averaging 5.8 rpg over those 17 games. Overall, Cleveland is No. 6 in baseball in OPS against all left-handed pitching while its 24 home runs is also good for No. 6. Tanner Bibee is making his 14th start and he is off to a solid start with a 3.73 ERA and he has been on his best stretch, allowing seven earned runs over his last five starts over 29.2 innings for a 2.12 ERA. He has been great on the road, allowing one run or less in four of his six outings for a 2.20 ERA and the Guardians are 6-0 in those games. Play (925) Cleveland Guardians
